Eight people were injured in a gas explosion at a bakery Wednesday morning in downtown Beijing, local fire department confirmed.
The explosion occurred at 7:33 a.m. in a Golden Phoenix Bakery store on Guangming Road, Dongcheng District.
The fire has been put out and two gas tanks containing 50 kg of liquefied gas have been removed from the scene.
The eight injured have been hospitalized.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
