Registration opens for diving contest

Registration has opened for the city's first citizen diving competition, local media reported Wednesday.

The competition is open to people from 18 to 45 years old who can swim at least 50 meters, though there are health requirements, the Xinmin Evening News reported. Anyone who has had a heart attack or suffers from hypertension, an infectious disease or high myopia cannot enter.

The competition will be held on the weekends from August 3 to August 25 at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center. Interested participants must register by July 31 at tyj.sh.gov.cn.
