Temp policeman fired for smashing car

A temporary policeman has been fired for sabotaging a civilian's car in Central China's Henan province, sparking controversy online.

Internet users questioned whether "temporary employees" served as a convenient scapegoat again.

Zhou Qingzhao said four people, who claimed to be undercover police officers, smashed his car on Saturday evening in Neixiang county, Henan province. They were enraged that he didn't make way for the police vehicle after it passed his car and forced it to stop, said Zhou, Henan-based Dahe Daily reported.

Yao Xin, deputy chief of a police station in Banchang towship, was on board, saying the police vehicle was on duty.

Chen Qiaolong, the driver who worked as a temporary employee, was fired and detained for five days, the police authorities of Neixiang county confirmed.

A temporary Chengguan, or urban management officer, was blamed for a sensational clash with a street vendor in Yan'an, Shaanxi province in June.
