Wang Yi calls for strategic cooperation with Vietnam

Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Binh Minh in Hanoi. The meeting has focused on international and regional issues, as well as bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic sector.

Wang Yi urged cooperation from the two sides over issues surrounding the South China Sea. He also called for both sides to step up efforts to implement agreements.

Pham Binh Minh said Vietnam was ready to work with China to implement deals reached by the leaders of both countries. He also said the two sides should maintain high-level exchanges, further expand pragmatic cooperation, and properly deal with the issues surrounding the South China Sea.
