Nenjiang River areas see worst flooding in 15 years

Continuous rain has swollen the Nenjiang River, in what locals are calling the worst floods in 15 years.

While the south has been suffering from shortage of water, there.s too much in northeast Heilongjiang province.

Continuous rain has swollen the Nenjiang River, in what locals are calling the worst floods in 15 years. Water levels at the dam upstream have surpassed what.s considered safe, forcing authorities to release greater amounts of water for 13 straight days.

A large number of roads and infrastructures have been badly damaged, while nearly one million hectares of crops have been ruined.
