Eighteen Chinese journalists arrived in Manila Tuesday to participate in a five-day cultural exchange, the local foreign affairs department said.
The journalists, who came via the Philippines-China Years of Friendly Exchanges (YFE) project, will attend a forum on media and society and a briefing on Philippine politics and foreign policy. They will also visit Bahay Tsinoy (Museum of the Chinese in Philippine Life), interview a Cabinet Secretary and go on a guided tour of Bohol, a popular resort island in Central Philippines.
The foreign affairs department said the familiarization tour aims to develop mutual appreciation among Filipino and Chinese media professionals of their roles in their respective societies; foster mutual understanding of each country's political, economic and social conditions; and facilitate networking among Filipino and Chinese journalists.
