Party throws out official

Shanghai disciplinary authorities announced Monday that Wang Jun, the former deputy head of Songjiang district, and member of the Standing Committee of CPC Songjiang District Committee, was found to have violated Party disciplinary rules and was involved in criminal activity.

Wang has been expelled from the Party, and his case has been forwarded to judicial authorities. Authorities did not specify what crimes Wang is accused of committing.

He was appointed deputy head of Songjiang district in December 2006.
