Mother-in-law murdered

A woman turned herself in to Baoshan police after killing her mother-in-law with a wooden stool late Saturday, local media reported Monday.

The 34-year-old Anhui Province native, surnamed Xie, smashed her 72-year-old relative with the stool following an argument at their home, the news website xinmin.cn reported.

The older woman later died from her injuries.

Police have taken Xie into custody. The case remained under investigation Monday.
