September 10th is China's annual Teachers' Day. Respecting and honoring teachers is a fundamental part of Chinese culture. Now in celebration of this year's Teacher's day, a public-spirited project has honoured those who dedicate their lives to teaching children in remote areas.

Initiated by CCTV and Guangming Daily, the "Finding the Most Beautiful Country Teacher" project has identified ten village teachers and one teaching team they consider to be the most deserving.

As special recommended guests, China's top science award winner, Wang Xiaomo, together with China's first space teacher Wang Yaping, joined the national heroes on stage. The project has also invited benevolent companies to sponsor the teachers and to help them with their education ambitions.
