The semifinal slots for men's senior basketball tournament of the National Games were decided on Tuesday, with Shandong facing Guangdong and Liaoning meeting Jiangsu in the clashes of last four.
Ding Yan Yuhang top-scored for Shandong with 22 points, including two free throws with one minute left, as they downed the PLA team 76-69.
Former NBA player Wang Zhizhi had 19 points for the PLA team.
"We are younger and more energetic. Today we did a good job at defence," said Shandong head coach Gong Xiaobin.
Guo Allen and Han Dejun scored team-high 18 points apiece to help hosts Liaoning beat underdogs Zhejiang 83-65.
Tang Zhengdong, who broke the ankle in the last game, grbbed a game-high 27 points as Jinagsu trounced Beijing 80-74 to enter the semifinal.
In another game, superstar Yi Jianlian scored 27 points as Guangdong routed Hubei 87-59.
