No tips for cab drivers

An update to the taxi-booking app "96106 Yaoyao Zhaoche" offered passengers the chance to win the bid by tipping the driver, which violated the regulations of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport, the Beijing News reported. The software manufacturers were told to revise the app. The Commission launched an initiative on August 20 to unify the four existing taxi-booking apps, including "Yaoyao Zhaoche," into one platform. All four were given one month to complete the upgrade. According to regulations, they were only allowed to charge a standard booking fee (five yuan for real-time reservations, six yuan for pre-booking); the updated version of "96106 Yaoyao Zhaoche" violated this rule by asking for extra fees.

Representatives of "96106 Yaoyao Zhaoche" said the problem had been caused by a technical bug and was fixed within 24 hours.
