Flights offer a special festival view from above

One of the best places to enjoy a view of the moon is from up high in the sky - why several airline companies are taking advantage of the their access the prime location to sell "moon-gazing flights" to customers for Mid-autumn Festival.

A Shanghai-based budget airline said it has scheduled a hundred flights from September 18 to 21 from 7 pm to midnight. Customers will be flown in an east-west or west-east direction just above the clouds to ensure the best possible field of vision, said the company.

Airports in Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Nanjing have also disclosed the best flights for moon-gazing on their websites. One man said that he booked a holiday flight from Guangzhou to Harbin to surprise his girlfriend.

"When we're that close to the moon, it'll be very romantic when I propose to her," he told weather.com.cn on Tuesday.
