A toddler from Chinese mainland died when she was struck by a falling rock on a visit to Taiwan's Hualien County on Thursday.
The three-year-old girl and her mother, surnamed Li, from east China's Zhejiang Province, were on a group excursion in the mountainous region, according to Taiwan media reports.
The girl was immediately taken to Hualien Hospital, but died from injuries at 20:00 on Thursday.
Her mother Li was slightly injured, and another man was hit in the rockfall.
Taroko Park authorities have since closed the pathway where the accident took place.
