Three people were killed Saturday when a truck went off an overpass and collided with a train in northwest China's Qinghai Province, local railway authorities said.
A pickup truck in Wulan County, under Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, lost control, broke through guardrails in an overpass and crashed with a train passing under it at about 8 a.m., the Qinghai railway bureau said in a statement.
Three people on the truck were dead when rescuers reached the site, it said.
The train, bound for Beijing from Lhasa, stopped there for a hour before train services on the 1,956-km Qinghai-Tibet railway were resumed.
An investigation into the exact cause of the accident is underway.
