The Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra from south China has given a grand performance at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
The hour long event, highlighting China's Confucius culture, is presented in a chorus while a symphony is played. It has involved about two hundred performers. This has been the first time for the performance to be staged overseas after seven years of preparation.
Its conductor says the concert plays crucial roles in bridging cultural differences between China and the world. It showcases the profound and pivotal Chinese cultures.
Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra staged a similar concert in 2006, featuring the Buddhist culture. The well-received event has inspired the Orchestra to do more for transcultural communication.
