The sixth Cross-Straits Cultural Industry Fair will be held next month in the coastal city of Xiamen, southeast China's Fujian province, a mainland spokesman said Wednesday.
Taiwanese companies and cultural organizations had registered and booked for more than 1,100 exhibition booths at the fair as of the end of August, Yang Yi, spokesman for the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office, said at a regular press conference.
Various forums as well as exhibitions featuring artwares, new media, comics and online games will be held during the event, according to Yang.
Telecom giants from across the Taiwan Strait, including China Mobile and Chunghwa Telecom, will be at the fair to showcase new technologies and exchange ideas.
This year's event will run between Oct. 25 to 28.
First launched in 2008, the fair has become an important platform for cultural communication and cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
