The 22nd Golden Rooster International Film Exhibition has opened in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province. It's just one of the events during this year's Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival, known as the largest film award event in China.
Welcome to the opening ceremony of the 22nd Golden Rooster International Film Exhibition. As a part of China's top film gala, the exhibition has attracted over 29 films from 17 countries to be screened.
These films will compete for the "the most popular international film" and other awards.
The candidates include "Eat Sleep Die", a Swedish entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards. There's also "Small World" from France, and the Iranian film "Days of Life", presented at the opening ceremony.
The Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival is an annual pageant of Chinese movies, but also a gala for selected foreign films.
A Chinese audience of film critics, university students and local movie fans will vote for their favorite international films, after watching 29 of them at the three-day exhibition.
