A man has been held by police after he set ablaze part of a hospital's outpatient building in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region over a medical dispute, firefighters said.
The man set fire to the outpatient hall of Kanghua Hospital in Gongcheng Yao Autonomous County of Guilin City at 12:40 a.m. on Tuesday. It was quenched by 13 firefighters after more than 10 minutes.
Firefighters rescued all the people trapped in the hall, with the blaze causing no casualties.
The man claimed he spent 4,800 yuan (781 U.S. dollars) to treat his illness in the hospital but his condition did not improve. This made him angry and ignite the flammable materials he took with him into the building.
Police took him away for further investigation.
