The recipients of the awards expressed their excitement over the rapid development of China's movie industry.
Nicole Kidman was on hand in Macao on Monday to take home the award for Best Actress in an international production. Accompanied by Chinese Star Jackie Chan, the 46 year old actress revealed her excitement as a first time visitor.
Academy-award winning actor Nicolas Cage was presented with the male equivalent of Kidman's award. The actor was also recently in Hong Kong shooting a Chinese action movie.
Cage said, "And I can tell you, a hundred percent, that making a movie in China, I'm buzzing with good energy, I feel great here. I love the people I'm working with, I love the crew, and there's a genuine warmth and enthusiasm."
Famed director Quentin Tarantino, best known for "Kill Bill" and "Django Unchained", won the award for Best International Director.
Tarantino said, "I've been a fan of Asian cinema my whole life growing up. I did my movie 'Kill Bill' as a complete tribute to my love for it and so to come here amongst the Chinese film industry, get this from the Chinese fans is a dream come true"
UK actress Michelle Dockery, well-known in China for her role in the drama series "Downton Abbey", also left her own unique mark on the event.
Other than stars of the screen, Huading also recognized talents from the music, dance and theatre world. Singer Avril Lavigne, who has a particularly strong fan base in Asia, received the award for Best International Singer.
The Huading Awards was first established in 2007. The event is held more than once a year in different Chinese cities to celebrate achievements in film, television, dance and music.
