Two firefighters were killed while putting out a fire in a Beijing market on Friday, the local fire department said.
A fire broke out in a market in Shijingshan District of Beijing at around 3 a.m. Friday, according to the Beijing fire department.
The Beijing Public Security Bureau dispatched 15 fire brigades, 63 fire trucks and more than 300 firefighters to the site to extinguish the fire.
Two firemen went into the market to check the situation and lost contact with the others. Their bodies were found under debris on the fourth floor of the market at 3:20 p.m.
So far, no market employees have been reported injured or dead.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
