People in Beijing who sign a home doctor contract with a general practitioner will receive partial reimbursement of the service charge, the Beijing Morning Post reported.
Many other planned reforms of Beijing's medical system will be implemented before the end of 2013. For example, at basic medical institutions such as community hospitals, hitherto separate prescription fees, registration fees, and charges for diagnosis and treatment will be replaced with a single medical service charge, which can be covered by health insurance. Additionally, the outpatient treatment process for the uninsured will be optimized with the use of a one-card system.
