The window of a subway train on the Batong Line was smashed by a flying stone while in operation, but no passengers were injured, the Beijing News reported.
Xu Dandan, a passenger, said she heard a loud bang at the window when the train was passing through Gaobeidian Station, and she was shocked to see that the window had been cracked by the impact. A photo she took shows a small hole in the train window.
A statement released by Beijing subway authorities said that they suspect a stone was flung at the train, that such behaviors endanger passengers' safety and should not be imitated. The subway car has been taken in for maintenance.
