(ECNS) – The 2013 Global Mobile Internet Conference was held Tuesday in Silicon Valley, San Francisco, with a number of Chinese companies such as Perfect world, Tencent, and Xiaomi participating.
Chinese companies have shown great interest in the US mobile Internet market, which is estimated to generate revenue of $90 billion.
Perfect World, which has sold its game products to over 100 countries and regions, has set up a wholly-owned subsidiary in North America. Xiao Hong, CEO of the company, said: "Our company's strategy is to set up self-organizing subsidiaries in markets that are considered of special significance."
The company's acquisition of American game studios was also considered as a success.
"After acquiring Runic Games and Cryptic Studios in the past few years, the company, which is a leading games exporter in China, will focus its future purchase on the mobile gaming market," the Hong Kong Commercial Daily reported.
The company has launched a global investment plan called "PWIN" to invest in game development projects designed for mobile devices. It is the first global game investment strategy from China.
Also looking to enter the US market, Tencent has taken over US-based game company Riot Games, which developed the world-popular game "League of Legends."
And Xiaomi, known for its increasing market value of 100 billion yuan ($16.43 billion), now employs Hugo Barra, former vice president of Google.
