World No.1 golfer and major winners Tiger Woods and Rory McIlory played in a two-man 18-hole contest for the first time in the match at Mission Hills in Haikou, south China's Hainan Province on Monday.
"The match at Mission Hills is geared to be a great contest with the great setting in Haikou, and I'm excited about playing there for the first time," said Tiger Woods, current world No.1 and 14-time Major winner. It's also the only presentation in China this year for Woods.
"I'm expecting a lot of fun this time in Hainan. Tiger Woods has played better golf this year, but I feel like I'm getting my game back again and I enjoy any challenge, especially against Tiger," said the former world No. 1 Rory McIlory.
Ken Chu, Chairman of Mission Hills Group, said the match at Mission Hills was a pure competition between two top golfers and it would bring a special visual experience to spectators.
An online voting to predict the winner of the match shows that 61% of the votes go to Tiger Woods and 39% in favor of Rory McIlory.
