In the Snooker International Championship in China's Southeastern city of Chengdu, three Chinese players have won places of the last round of eight.
Ding Junhui won in the third round after beating Matthew Stevens six to one. He will next face Englishman Peter Ebdon for a place in the semi-finals. Ding is trying to become the first player since Stephen Hendry in 1990 to win three consecutive ranking events. He also triumphed at the Shanghai Masters and the India Open.
In other third-round matches, Chinese player Liang Wenbo and Hong Kong's Marco Fu also edged their opponents.
