Two men used illegal software to fraudulently recharge IC transport cards, resulting in a spending spree that cost the city more than 60,000 yuan, the Beijing News reported.
In March, the two men, surnamed Weng and Li, used software to manipulate the data on IC transport cards. They repeatedly recharged the credit on eight IC transport cards and used them at convenience stores and on transportation.
The two men have been charged with theft and are being tried at Chaoyang district court.
