A hair salon in Longde Plaza in Changping district was reported to the Tiantongyuan industry and commerce authority for fraud, the Beijing Morning Post reported.
A woman surnamed Liu spent 12,800 yuan ($2,100) to purchase salon membership earlier this year, but then the shop closed down and none of the staff could be contacted.
Plaza management told Liu to use her membership card at two other hair salons in the plaza; however, the two shops refused to serve Liu until she first added credit to the card.
Liu and several other members decided to report the business to protect their consumer rights.
