According to the negotiations between Beijing's heating and meteorological departments, central heating will be switched on in kindergartens, nursing homes and hospitals before November 15, the Beijing Daily reported.
Wang Aimin, director of the Beijing heating supply office, said that certain institutions can apply for central heating to be switched on early and to continue for a period after the official end date. However, because average temperatures this year are higher than the year-on-year data, they are not low enough to trigger system-wide early heating. According to the plan, trial heating will be launched throughout the city, and indoor temperatures should reach 18 degrees Celsius on November 15.
