A chubby rhesus monkey evaded police after being found strolling along the side of Beijing's East Third Ring Road in the morning of November 5, the Beijing News reported.
Pictures online show a brown-furred beast about half a meter high. Some locals were feeding the monkey food, the report said.
The monkey was first seen at 8 am of November 5, whereupon it evaded capture by the police and is now believed to be somewhere around Taiyanggong.
Beijing Zoo has confirmed that this monkey is not the baboon that went missing in Daxing district on October 31.
