Nine ancient tombs were discovered in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province, straddling three dynasties, Xi'an Evening News reported on Tuesday.
The tombs were from the Western Han (206 BC – 24 AD), Tang (618 -907 AD) and Song (960 – 1279 AD) dynasties and two couples were entombed in two of them.
A number of relics including murals, figurines, boxes and pots were excavated.
