These tourists from the Chinese mainland are loving it here. Everything about the ethnic marriage ritual is fresh to them.

"It's very different from the customs in my hometown- this is such a fun and fresh experience," said a newly weds.

These wedding customs belong to the Taroko people in Eastern Taiwan. They are just one of the indigenous groups in Taiwan. In order to get married, the men have to be skilled hunters and the women skilled sewers, as one expert explains.

Before marriage, the men come to work in the girl's household for a while. He helps out with farm work and hunting so the girl's parents can evaluate him to see if he's right.

These ethnic weddings have been welcoming tourists since 2010 and since then more than 100 weddings have taken place. Analysts believe it will enhance cultural ties between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
