Photos of a man driving a scrapped car missing most of its parts in Changsha, Hunan province, recently caused a stir with netizens.
The photos, uploaded on November 7 to a local forum, show the car without its roof, engine hood, trunk hood, backseats, windows and license plates. Many internal parts, such as its engine, were exposed.
A local netizen under the username "snoopy" said that he spotted the car being driven in Lukou township of Changsha county on October 3.
"The motorist, a middle-aged man, was making a phone call while driving. It looked like a roadster from a distance, but upon closer inspection it was really a pile of scrap metal," Snoopy wrote.
The owner of the car remains unknown because the vehicle lacked license plates. According to the Road Traffic Safety Law, any motorist caught driving an unroadworthy vehicle faces a fine of between 200 yuan ($33) and 2,000 yuan plus the revocation of their driver's license.
