Chinese cultural exhibition kicks off in Chongqing

Sponsored by the advisory office of the State Council, the Central Research Institute of Culture and History and the Chongqing government, the "Chinese Culture National Tour: Entering Chongqing" will kick off on Nov 18 in the municipality.

As a national cultural event and brand, the campaign chooses one or two provinces or cities every year to promote the Chinese culture and regional cultural development.

More than 30 well-known experts in culture and art will be invited to universities, art centers and galleries, theaters, museums and other scenic spots in Chongqing to host a series of events, including lectures, exchanges, research discussions about the local culture and seminars.

According to Chongqing authorities, a Chinese painting and calligraphy exhibition will be held in the Three Gorges Museum during the festival. The exhibition will display over 130 works from painters and calligraphers such as Qi Baishi, Qi Gong and Chen Banding.
