Crash with flatbed claims 2 dead

A man and a woman died after their Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle hit a flatbed truck in Pudong New Area early Thursday morning, local media reported.

The vehicle was speeding when it crashed into the truck, leaving it wedged underneath the larger vehicle. The man and woman were trapped in their car.

They both suffered severe head injuries and damage to their internal organs.

Police were still investigating the crash Thursday.
