Nine assailants were shot dead on Saturday after they killed two auxiliary police officers while attacking a police station in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, local police said.
The nine assailants, including one identified as Abla Ehet, wielded knives and axes when they attacked the police station in Serikbuya township of Bachu county in Kashgar prefecture at about 5:30 pm, Kashgar police said.
Two police officers were injured in the attack.
The social order has returned to normal, police said, without providing further details.
