Tourism authorities from the Tibet autonomous region are promoting nine products specifically designed for travelers heading to the roof of the world in winter.
The weather and air quality in Tibet in winter are much better than those of big cities on the Chinese mainland, tourism officials from the region said at a news conference in Beijing on Monday.
The products include a sightseeing trip to Mount Qomolangma, the highest mountain in the world that is known as Mount Everest in the West, and wedding ceremonies at tourist attractions.
Local governments offer discounts on air tickets and entrance fees of scenic spots for winter tourists, they said, adding that more than 1 million trips were made to Tibet in the winter of 2012.
More than 12 million trips were completed in the autonomous region from January to October this year, official statistics show.
