Top Chinese political advisor Yu Zhengsheng on Tuesday met with a delegation of the Party of European Socialists.
Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said the decision on deepening reforms approved by the third Plenary Session of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee earlier in November will offer strong impetus to China's development and progress and bring more opportunities for China-Europe cooperation.
Stressing China's commitment to developing ties with Europe, Yu said the 16th China-Europe leaders' summit, which also took place in Beijing earlier in November, will chart a direction for the deepening of bilateral relations.
He added that the CPC values ties with the Party of European Socialists, calling for the two sides to contribute more wisdom and strength to China-Europe relations.
Jan Royall, who is leading the delegation, said she is glad to communicate with the CPC leaders after the party's important plenum for fostering mutual trust and understanding.
She said party-to-party exchanges will help advance Europe-China relations.
The delegation will conclude its week-long visit on Friday.
