China's Xinhua News Agency has opened a photo exhibition at Mexico's Chamber of Deputies on the development of China-Mexico diplomatic relations.
The event also launched the Spanish language Internet service portal of China Xinhua News Network Corporation, Xinhua's television service.
The exhibition has 42 photos recording historic moments since China and Mexico established diplomatic ties in 1972.
Xinhua vice president Zhou Shuchun told the opening ceremony Friday his organization, as China's national news agency, had witnessed the development of friendship and cooperation between China and Mexico.
Xinhua was willing to work with people of all walks of life to further promote friendship between the Chinese and Mexican peoples, he said.
Qiu Xiaoqi, China's ambassador to Mexico, said China-Mexico relations had maintained good momentum for development, and had been lifted to a higher level after leaders of the two countries exchanged visits in the past few months.
Javier Trevino Cantu, federal deputy of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, thanked Xinhua for its work in Mexico.
"Xinhua's reports deepen the mutual understanding between China and Mexico and promote the development of bilateral friendship and cooperation," he said.
Edward Vogel Brauer, deputy general director of the Mexican Presidency's International Media Department attended the ceremony, along with representatives from the Mexican government, congress and media.
