China's top court issued on Monday a list of 10 don'ts for judges to prevent extravagance and waste during the holidays.
Each court is not allowed to buy greeting cards, postcards, calendars, fireworks, gifts and moon cakes using public funds during the holidays, such as Spring Festival and Tomb-Sweeping Day, according to a statement from the Supreme People's Court.
All courts across the country cannot use public funds to organize or participate in entertainment activities, including travel, treating guests and holding meetings, the statement said. Every judicial officer cannot drive government cars on private matters, the statement said.
The top court added that if they find someone disobeying the rules, they will dole out strict and heavy punishments.
