A man climbed onto the roof of a metro carriage in Shanghai during morning rush hour on Wednesday, disrupting train schedules for 30 minutes.
The man, aged about 30, was found by metro staff sitting on the roof of a carriage on Metro Line 3 near Zhongshan Park Station at around 8:30 am. Train services between Yishan Road Station and Zhongtan Road Station were immediately suspended.
Normal service was resumed after police escorted him from the station.
"We're still verifying where is he from and how he got on the carriage roof, he hasn't told us anything," Zhou Wei, a spokeswoman for the municipality's metro police, told China Daily.
Police said this is the first such incident in Shanghai.
The case is under investigation and the man faces administrative detention for disturbing public order, Zhou said.
