A senior official of the All-China Women's Federation on Wednesday called for better child protection as a number of cases of domestic and school violence were not reported immediately.
Tan Lin made the remarks at a theme publicity event against violence against children, admitting that social services can barely meet the needs of victims of violence, but did not reveal how many cases were not reported in a timely manner.
Tan said that violence targeting children has posed great challenges to countries worldwide and called for harsh crackdown, hoping that the event could help protect children.
She also encouraged the public to report violence via the women's rights protection hotline -- 12338.
