Coma wife partly responds to husband

A woman who has been in a deep coma for 13 years, being cared for by a devoted husband, showed tentative signs of recovery, Beijing Evening News reported on Dec 5.

Chen Dong, 82, has fed, washed and massaged his wife daily for 13 years after she slipped into a coma following medication.

Chen speaks to her every day. "Hi, my dear, get better, you listened to me for so many years, and I want to hear a word from you."

With careful attending from Chen, his wife never had a bedsore and can now open her eyes occasionally.
