People in several poverty-stricken and disaster-hit areas will receive cash allowances and goods for New Year's Day and Spring Festival through a project by the China Charity Federation.
The federation launched the project on Tuesday, with an appeal for donations to help the vulnerable have a happy holiday.
The federation has raised clothing and money totaling 3.1 million yuan ($510,450).
This will be allocated to people in Heilongjiang, Gansu and Sichuan provinces, as well as Chongqing municipality through cooperation with local charities.
Since 2003, the charity has raised 1 billion yuan and helped 2 million people in poverty-stricken areas celebrate the festival.
