Primary schools in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, will cancel the 100-point system and implement pupil evaluations, the People's Daily reported on Tuesday.
The reform pilot program for comprehensive evaluation on education quality in primary schools in Chengdu was approved recently by the Ministry of Education and will be implemented in the city's primary schools in 2014.
Any forms of unified examinations for pupils from grade one to grade three will also be canceled.
