The majority of people living in cities across China feel that their daily lives are adversely affected by heavy traffic, according to a survey conducted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and published on Tuesday.
Around 84 percent of respondents said they have traffic-related problems on a daily basis.
Of these, 16.5 percent said their city had particularly heavy traffic, while about 40 percent said traffic was "quite busy" where they lived.
Around 28 percent of respondents said traffic was "a little busy" and 13 percent said they had no traffic issues.
The survey sought the opinions of 20,000 residents in 38 major cities in China, covering various aspects of daily life, including medical treatment, housing, education, and transport.
Lhasa, capital of the Tibet autonomous region, topped the ranking for smooth traffic flow, followed by other nine cities, including Haikou and Zhuhai.
