The first Measures for the Management of Parking in Beijing were issued and will be implemented on January 1, 2014. The policy measures cover the construction, operations and management of parking lots, the Beijing News reported.
People are strictly forbidden to set up any barriers such as ground bolts or parking posts without permission. Violators will be fined 500-10,000 yuan ($82-1,646).
The new measures also target the widespread problem of illegal parking lots as well as unauthorized parking attendants; authorities will try to eliminate all such violations inside the Second Ring before the end of next year.
