Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is paying a three-day official visit to the Middle East, his first visit to the region since taking office.
The minister has ended the first leg of the trip, which was to Palestine, and is heading for Israel to hold talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Israeli-Palestinian peace talks and trade relations between Israeli and China are both high on his agenda.
Wang met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday to boost bilateral ties, and push forward the ongoing peace talks.
