Mob attacks local police office, 8 shot dead

Local official website, Tianshan dot com says nine people armed with knives attacked a county police office in the city of Kashgar, in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The attackers cast explosive devices at the office, and set a police car on fire.

The police shot eight of them to death, and arrested the other.
