A unified social credit code for enterprises, organizations and institutions has been drafted to build a social credit system, a senior official with the country's quality watchdog said on Jan 6.
The system, yet to be approved by the State Council, will cover all legal entities ranging from enterprises to social organizations and build a single and unified code for all entities, Zhi Shuping, chief with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, said during an annual work conference.
The code was jointly drafted by the quality watchdog with two other central government departments, the National Development and Reform Committee and the State Administration of Taxation.
Meanwhile, the quality watchdog will also establish a blacklist for enterprises that fail to reach quality standards and will severely punish enterprises found to be in violation, Zhi said.
