According to the Dongcheng district government, a greenway along the East Second Ring Road will be unveiled to Beijing citizens by the end of 2014, the Beijing Daily reported.
The garden path will be 16.1 kilometers long, cover 39.4 hectares and include 10 scenic spots. Liang Chengcai, director of the Dongcheng District Bureau of Landscape and Forestry, said that the garden's scenic spots are designed to unite the existing landmarks of the Second Ring Road: the Bell and Drum Towers, Anding Gate, Yonghegong Lama Temple, the Temple of Heaven and the Temple of Earth. Three scenic spots have currently been completed. The garden will also include a cycling path.
